At least it is not Swine flu!!

Mason woke up with a high fever yesterday! ( don't you love being a mom?)So, I kept him home from school. Today, he got up saying his throat hurt and his fever was higher. Ah- ha! I think we have strep. SOOO, I drag everyone kicking and screaming to the doctor where he confirms the awful truth and writes a prescription. Now off to the pharmacy. Well, aparently there has been a mad rush on penicillian and We had to go too 4 pharmacies to get drugs. Then we have to wait an hour while they fill the friggin thing. Meanwhile I am dragging around a very sick child and two daughters who need spankings now! What a great Saturday!!
On a brighter note, I got a haircut yesterday and hair colored and that can do wonders for a woman!!

cough, cough cough-is my kid ever going to sleep?

Reagan kept us up all night coughing and coughing. The kind of annoying one, coming from a tickle in your throat. I gave her triaminic and it didn't help. I gave her delysm and it didn't help. I was starting to feel completly postal by 1 in the morning and got the idea to give her some root beer I was drinking. TA-DA she quit hacking for a few hours at least. Then when the tickle came back I just gave her a swig of root beer and back to sleep she went. Now today she is all perky and happy and I am dragging around like a tired zombie!!

At least the daffodils and crocus are blooming!! Reagan is making me nuts these days. She can't keep enough new information coming into her life to be entertained. She told me preschool is boring because I am not teaching her to read. Thanks kid. She told a stranger in Kohl's the life cycle of a frog last week. What next?

Happy Fourth of July!

I love the 4th of July! We started the day with patriotic pancakes and a trip out to get fireworks. This is a big deal for our little family, and we always call it our 4th of July Fireworks extravaganza. Melissa and Jonathon emerged from the Alaskan frontier after driving for days straight and they were eager to blow some things up too. They couldn't do fireworks at all the whole time they were in Alaska. boo hoo. We put our fireworks together and had quite the show. We spent the day swimming, sucking down popcycles and then we had a bbq.. It was so cute to see my little nephew Grant watching the fireworks. He kept saying something like "what's that?" and then just giggling when they lit up. Reagan thought the sparklers were really cool and she loved the pink diamond fountain libby picked out. Mason had to see a blue planet fountain again this year and he picked a goofy looking clown, that we were all too happy to light up and get rid of. Libby was a big helper with Grant and like to see the Magna fireworks we could see from the Lachowski's.

Everybody was Kung Fu fighting!

Yesterday we took the kids to see Kung Fu Panda!. Reagan loved this giant panda cardboard cut-out! This movie was really cute. I love there are still some movies we can take our little kids too. The air conditioning felt pretty awesome in the theater as well. We got all you can eat soda and popcorn and the kids ate and ate and ate. Poor Kenny had to keep running back and forth to the counter for the refills.
